The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
