۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
