The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
