Therefore continue to give warning, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time? 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? 32 Do they say: 'He has invented it' No, they do not believe. 33 Let them bring a discourse like thereunto, if they say sooth. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty. 36 Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? 40 Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him). 43 If they should see a part of the heavens falling down, they would say, "A mass of clouds," 44 So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror). 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad SAW) for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes, and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep. 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
