The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the sky with its constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 When they sat by it (fire), 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
