And indeed We have created man and We know what his soul instils in him; and We are nearer to him than the hearts artery. 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it). 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 Each soul will come with a driver and a witness. 21 [It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp." 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 who is an opponent of good, a suspicious transgressor 25 Who sets up another god with Allah, so do cast him into severe chastisement. 26 ۞ His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error. 27 He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: 28 There is no changing of My word, nor am I unjust to My creatures." 29
