Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 excusing or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for an appointed time? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
