The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
