We created you then We shaped you, then We said to the angels: 'Prostrate yourselves before Adam' They all prostrated themselves except iblis he was not among the prostrated. 11 He (Allah) asked: 'What prevented you to prostrate, when I commanded you' 'I am better than he' he replied. 'You created me of fire and You created him of clay' 12 He (Allah) said: 'Descend from it! This is no place for you to be proud. Begone, you are of the humiliated' 13 He said: respite me till the Day they shall be raised up. 14 [And God] replied: "Verily, thou shalt be among those who are granted a respite." 15 He said, “Hence I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I will certainly lay in wait for them on Your Straight Path.” 16 and come upon them from the front and from the rear, from their right and from their left. Then, You shall find most of them ungrateful' 17 Allah said: go thou forth from hence, scorned, driven away. Whosoever of them followeth thee, I will of a surety fill Hell with you all. 18 And; O Adam: dwell thou and thy spouse in the Garden and eat ye twain thereof whence ye will, and approach not yonder tree lest ye twain become of the wrong-doers. 19 But Satan suggested (evil) to them, in order to reveal their hidden parts of which they were not aware (till then), and said: "Your Lord has forbidden you (to go near) this tree that you may not become angels or immortal." 20 And he swore [by Allah] to them, "Indeed, I am to you from among the sincere advisors." 21 and thus he led them on with deluding thoughts. But as soon as the two had tasted [the fruit] of the tree, they became conscious of their nakedness; and they began to cover themselves with pieced-together leaves from the garden. And their Sustainer called 22 They said, 'Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if Thou dost not forgive us, and have mercy upon us, we shall surely be among the lost.' 23 He said: Get forth, some of you, the enemies of others, and there is for you in the earth an abode and a provision for a time. 24 There you will live; there you will die; from there you will be raised up again." 25
