I swear by all that you can see, 38 and by that you do not see, 39 most surely, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 40 not the speech of a poet. Little do you believe! 41 Nor is it the word of a soothsayer: little admonition it is ye receive. 42 [it is] a revelation from the Sustainer of all the worlds. 43 And if he [i.e., the Prophets] had forged this Discourse and thereafter ascribed it to Us, 44 We surely had lain hold of him by the right hand. 45 then We would surely have cut his life-vein 46 and none of you could have saved him! 47 And surely it is an admonition to the God-fearing. 48 And behold, well do We know that among you are such as will give the lie to it: 49 And lo! it is indeed an anguish for the disbelievers. 50 This is the Truth beyond any doubt. 51 Extol, then the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 52
