Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
