The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 And your garments do purify, 4 and flee from the statues! 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 and for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 That shall be - that Day - a day hard. 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 and appointed for him ample wealth 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 And made things easy for them. 14 and who still desires more. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 19 Again, ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 Then frowned he and showed displeasure. 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Over it are Nineteen. 30 We have made only angels as the keepers of the fire (for they are the strongest in carrying out Our commands). Our informing (people) of the numbers of these angels is a trial for the disbelievers. It gives more certainty to the people of the Book and strengthens the faith of the believers. The people of the Book and the believers have no doubt about it. We have fixed the number to make the disbelievers and those whose hearts are sick say, "What does God mean by such a parable?" Thus, God guides and causes to go astray whomever He wants. No one knows about the army of your Lord except He Himself. This parable is a reminder for mankind. 31
