The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 purify your garments; 4 And uncleanness do shun, 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 And persevere in the way of your Lord. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 Not of ease, for disbelievers. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 And sons dwelling in his presence, 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 and who still desires more. 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 Then he looked around, 21 Then he frowned and he scowled; 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 It scorches people's skin 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
