The Pharaoh and his people had also received Our warning, 41 The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will. 42 Are the unbelievers among you any better than they? Or is there immunity for you in the Scriptures? 43 Or do they say: "We are a great multitude, and we shall be victorious?" 44 [Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat]. 45 Nay; the Hour of Doom is their appointed time, and the Hour shall be more calamitous and bitter. 46 Truly those in sin are the ones straying in mind, and mad. 47 The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!" 48 We have created everything to fulfill a certain purpose. 49 We command but once: Our will is done in the twinkling of an eye; 50 And We destroyed those like you, is there any that will remember! 51 And everything they have wrought is in the Writs. 52 everything large or small, is duly inscribed. 53 Surely the godfearing shall dwell amid gardens and a river 54 In a good seat, near a Sovereign Omnipotent. 55
