Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
