In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of those who establish proper ranks. 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatever lies between the two, the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And to guard against every rebellious devil. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 it and say, "It is only plain magic". 15 “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?” 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil)." 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 They will say, "Woe to us! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 This is the Day of Judgment which ye were wont to belie. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
