The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
