Al-Naml 6 of 7
The unbelievers say, 'What, when we are dust, and our fathers, shall we indeed be brought forth? 67 We have been promised this, and our fathers before; this is naught but the fairy-tales of the ancients.' 68 Say to them (O Muhammad SAW) "Travel in the land and see how has been the end of the criminals (those who denied Allah's Messengers and disobeyed Allah)." 69 Do not grieve over them, and do not be distressed by what they contrive. 70 They say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak the truth?' 71 Say: Maybe there may have drawn near to you somewhat of that which you seek to hasten on. 72 Lo! thy Lord is full of bounty for mankind, but most of them do not give thanks. 73 Your Lord certainly knows whatever their hearts conceal or reveal. 74 And naught there is hidden in the heaven or the earth but it is in a Manifest Book. 75 Verily this Qur'an doth explain to the Children of Israel most of the matters in which they disagree. 76 And truly, it (this Quran) is a guide and a mercy to the believers. 77 Surely, by His Judgement, your Lord will decide between them. He is the Mighty, the Knower. 78 So you place your trust in God. Certainly you stand on positive truth. 79 [But,] verily, thou canst not make the dead hear: and [so, too,] thou canst not make the deaf [of heart] hear this call when they turn their backs [on thee] and go away, 80 You cannot guide the straying blind ones. You can only make hear those who believe in Our revelations submissively. 81 ۞ And when the Word falls on them, We will bring out from the earth a beast that shall speak to them: 'Indeed the people were not certain of Our verses.' 82

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
