Say: "Truly am I a Warner: no god is there but the one Allah, Supreme and Irresistible,- 65 Lord of the heavens and earth, and of what between them is, the All-mighty, the All-forgiving.' 66 Say: 'It is a mighty tiding 67 yet you ignore it. 68 I had no knowledge of the Highest Chiefs when they disputed; 69 Naught is revealed unto me except that I am a warner manifest. 70 When thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to create a mortal out of mire, 71 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down making obeisance to him. 72 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely. 73 except iblis (satan, the father of the jinn), he became too proud, for he was one of the unbelievers. 74 The Lord said, "Iblis, what prevented you from prostrating before what I have created with My own hands? Was it because of your pride or are you truly exalted?" 75 Said Iblis, “I am better than him; You made me from fire, and You have created him from clay!” 76 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here: for thou art rejected, accursed. 77 "And verily!, My Curse is on you till the Day of Recompense." 78 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 79 The Lord said, "You will only be given a respite 80 till the Day whose Hour I know.” 81 Said he, 'Now, by Thy glory, I shall pervert them all together, 82 Save Thy bondmen among them Sincere. 83 [Allah] said, "The truth [is My oath], and the truth I say - 84 Most certainly will I fill hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together!" 85 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'For this I ask of you no wage, and I am not of those who take things upon themselves. 86 This [divine writ,] behold, is no less than a reminder to all the worlds — 87 you shall before long know its truth." 88
