The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the Great News 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
