The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He has created man: 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
