The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 when their brother Noah said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 106 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 107 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 108 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 109 "So keep your duty to Allah, fear Him and obey me." 110 ۞ They answered: "Shall we accept you even though it is the meanest of people who follow you?" 111 He said, 'What knowledge have I of that they have been doing? 112 Their account falls only upon my Lord, were you but aware. 113 And I am not to drive away the believers. 114 'I am naught but a plain warner.' 115 They said: "If you cease not, O Nuh (Noah)! You will surely be among those stoned (to death)." 116 He said, 'My Lord, my people have cried me lies, 117 hence, lay Thou wide open the truth between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me!" 118 We saved him and those who were with him in a fully laden Ark, 119 then afterwards We drowned the rest. 120 Verily there is a sign in this, yet many of them do not believe. 121 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 122
