The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
