(The tribe of) A’ad denied the Noble Messengers. 123 Their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear God? 124 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting, 128 And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide. 129 When you attack, you attack as tyrants do. 130 So be fearful of God and follow me. 131 Have fear of the One who has bestowed upon you all that you know. 132 Who has provided you with flocks and children 133 “And with gardens and water-springs.” 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 this is nothing but a habit of the ancients: 137 and we shall never be punished' 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 140
