The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
