Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And those that strike violently, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
