So did you observe him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
