Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 By the night when it departs. 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
