The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
