And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, - 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
