The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
