I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning for people -- 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
