The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 For a mighty day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 By no means! Aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning. 14 Yes indeed - they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 A written record, 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 resting on couches, looking around. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, heights ultimate of evolution, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers? 36
