The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 it is no merriment. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
