The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
