Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you who wraps himself [in clothing], 1 Stand up for worship during the night, except for some part of it. 2 A half thereof, or abate a little thereof 3 Or a little more, and recite the Qur'an slowly and distinctly. 4 Soon shall We send down to thee a weighty Message. 5 Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words. 6 You are indeed much occupied during the day with the affairs of the world. 7 And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion. 8 The Lord of the East and the West-- there is no god but He-- therefore take Him for a protector. 9 Bear patiently with what they say and with a fine abandonment forsake them. 10 And leave Me (alone to deal with) those in possession of the good things of life, who (yet) deny the Truth; and bear with them for a little while. 11 Surely with Us are heavy fetters and a flaming fire, 12 and a food that chokes, and a grievous chastisement. 13 (They will come across all this) on the Day when the earth and the mountains shall tremble violently and the mountains shall crumble into heaps of scattered sand. 14 Verily We! We have sent unto you an apostle, a witness over you, even as We sent unto Fir'awn an apostle. 15 In response Firaun disobeyed the Noble Messenger, so We seized him with a severe seizure. 16 If you disbelieve, how will you guard yourself against the Day that will make children gray haired, 17 And the heaven shall be split therein. His promise indeed must be fulfilled. 18 Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord! 19

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
