Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
