The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 About which they differ? 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
