And who is fairer in speech than he who calls to Allah and acts righteously and says: “I am a Muslim”? 33 Nor can good and evil be equal. Repel thou evil with that which is goodly then behold; he between whom and thee there was enmity, will be as though he was a warm friend. 34 And no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint,- none but persons of the greatest good fortune. 35 And if there inciteth thee an incitement from the Satan then seek refuge in Allah. Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 36 And the night, and the day, and the sun, and the moon are among His signs; do not prostrate for the sun or the moon, but prostrate for Allah Who has created them, if you are His bondmen. 37 But if they are too proud - still those who are with thy Lord glorify Him night and day, and tire not. ۩ 38 And among His Signs in this: thou seest the earth barren and desolate; but when We send down rain to it, it is stirred to life and yields increase. Truly, He Who gives life to the (dead) earth can surely give life to (men) who are dead. For He has power over all things. 39 Those who distort the meaning of Our message are not concealed from Us. Who is better -- someone who will be thrown into the Fire or someone who will arrive in safety on the Day of Resurrection? Do as you will, He sees whatever you do. 40 Verily, they who are bent on denying the truth of this reminder as soon as it comes to them - [they are the losers]: for, behold, it is a sublime divine writ: 41 falsehood shall not reach from before or from behind. It is a revelation from the Wise, the One worthy of all praise. 42 Nothing that is said to you has not already been said to other Messengers before you. Indeed, your Lord is a Lord of forgiveness, but stern in retribution. 43 Had We revealed this as a non-Arabic Qur'an they would have said: “Why were its verses not clearly expounded? How strange, a non-Arabic scripture and an Arab audience!” Tell them: “It is a guidance and a healing to the believers. But to those who do not believe, it serves as a plug in their ears and a covering over their eyes. It is as if they are being called from a place far away. 44
