O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do. 51 And surely this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, therefore be careful (of your duty) to Me. 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 So leave them in their confusion for a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 And those who believe in the communications of their Lord, 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord, 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a Book with Us which speaks the truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us". 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Have they not pondered the saying, or came there upon them that which came not upon their fathers, the ancients? 68 Or is it that they were unaware of their Messenger and were therefore repelled by him for he was a stranger to them? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 Or are you asking them for any reward? But the reward of your Lord is the best, for He is the Best of Providers, 72 And indeed you call them to the Straight Path. 73 And indeed those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviated from the Straight Path. 74 ۞ If We took compassion on them and removed the affliction they are in, they would only wander lost in confusion. 75 And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] 76 until We opened upon them the door of a severe chastisement. Then lo, in this state they become utterly despaired of any good. 77
