The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Cloaked one, 1 Rise up and warn! 2 Proclaim the glory of your Lord; 3 Purify your inner self, 4 And banish all trepidation. 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. its second blowing); 8 it will be a hard day 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 And for whom I smoothed everything. 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 He planned and plotted. 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- 20 He looked (at others); 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 Then he turned back and was big with pride, 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 Would that you really knew what hell is! 27 It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)! 28 Scorching the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
