Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
