Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
