And when the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 We informed him that the unbelievers would be utterly destroyed. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 By your life! In their drunkenness they were truly blind. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 for, behold, those [towns] stood by a road that still exists. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
