Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In a high garden 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
