Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a high Garden. 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
