And who is more wicked than he who invents lies about God or denies His revelations? Surely the wicked will not succeed. 21 And on the day when We shall gather them all together, then shall We say to those who associated others (with Allah): Where are your associates whom you asserted? 22 Then they shall have no proving, but to say, 'By God our Lord, we never associated other gods with Thee.' 23 Behold! how they lied against themselves! and then failed them that which they had been fabricating. 24 And among them are those who listen to you, but We have placed over their hearts coverings, lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And if they should see every sign, they will not believe in it. Even when they come to you arguing with you, those who disbelieve say, "This is not but legends of the former peoples." 25 And they forbid it, and keep afar from it, and it is only themselves they destroy, but they are not aware. 26 If you could see them when they are set before the Fire! They will say: 'Would that we could return! Then we would not belie the verses of our Lord and would be believers' 27 Nay, it has become manifest to them what they had been concealing before. But if they were returned (to the world), they would certainly revert to that which they were forbidden. And indeed they are liars. 28 And they said, “There is no other life except our life of this world, and we are not to be raised.” 29 If you see them when they are put before their Lord, He will say to them: "Is not this the truth?" They will answer: "Indeed, by our Lord." He will say: "Then taste the agony of punishment for what you had denied." 30
