Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 And strike sparks of fire, 2 And the chargers at dawn, 3 and leave behind a cloud of dust 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 Indeed, the human is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 and surely he is a witness against that! 7 Surely he is passionate in his love for good things. 8 ۞ So does he not know? When those in the graves are raised, 9 And that within the breasts is obtained, 10 their Lord will examine his deeds? 11
