The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 Like (those) We had sent to those schismatics who slandered their Books 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 About their deeds. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 And worship thy Lord until there cometh unto thee the certainty. 99
