The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These are the heirs 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
